11.07.2010

Highlights of June

The Swiss Pavilion retained its status as one of the World Expo’s most popular pavilions in the month of June. While it attracted an impressive number of 331,271 visitors in the month of May, this result was topped in June with up to 350,000 visitors.

June was also a very attractive month in terms of temporary exhibitions and events. The exhibition of Swiss Excellence in Science, Technology and Innovation by swissnex replaced the highly popular interactive installation by Bern-Jungfrau region in the exhibition area. A highlight on the Pavilion stage was the performance of Swiss singer Fiona Daniel (picture) in the context of the artists-in-residence program presented by Montreux Jazz and Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia. Furthermore, the urban area of the Swiss Pavilion is still very popular among Chinese families and other visitors of the Expo to have a picnic in the shade, enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, and take a rest from the Expo buzz.
