Expo 2010 Shanghai

The Expo 2010 Shanghai on the theme of  'Better City, Better Life' was the largest World Expo ever to be staged. And from the very beginning the Swiss Pavilion, under the project management of Presence Switzerland and conceived by ARGE Buchner Bründler Architects and element design GmbH, was amongst the most talked about and popular pavilions.

This was reflected in the high number of visitors, in the many awards as well as the large and positive media coverage in China with numerous articles about the power of Swiss innovation demonstrated in the Pavilion.

As an important platform for communication abroad, the Swiss Pavilion made a great contribution to strengthening the image of Switzerland in China. Swiss business and industry also took advantage of this opportunity to consolidate and intensify existing relations with China and create new ones.

The great enthusiasm shown by the Chinese for the Swiss Pavilion was an expression of the friendship between the People's Republic of China and Switzerland, who celebrated the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2010.
